Statutory preventive occupational health care

The Occupational Health Care Act stipulates and guides the operations of occupational health care and cooperation with the client company. Employers are obliged to organise statutory preventive occupational health care services that support work ability for all employees.

Pihlajalinna’s statutory preventive occupational health agreement fulfils all legal obligations that the employer must comply with. At Pihlajalinna, you are always helped by your personal occupational health team that knows your company and its personnel. We take care of your work ability!

The statutory preventive contents are always defined together with the customer organisation, in accordance with the workplace’s needs. A person’s experience of their ability to work is affected by many factors: employee’s health and ability to function, social environment, work community’s situation, leadership and supervisor work, work and working conditions, competence, attitude and motivation.

    Action plan

    High-quality occupational health care is based on knowing the workplace and a jointly drafted action plan. A workplace survey provides the employer with information about how the work and working conditions impact a person’s ability to work. The workplace survey is always carried out together by the workplace and occupational health care.

    The workplace survey includes information about the risks’ impact on one’s health, factors posing a particular risk of falling ill, and proposals for how to improve the working conditions and promote the employees’ ability to work. Based on the survey, a joint actions plan is prepared. The action plan includes objectives of the occupational health care cooperation, the workplace’s needs, and the relevant measures for supporting the employees’ ability to work.

    Pihlajalinna’s remote appointment service is available around the clock every day of the year.

    A remote appointment with a doctor using the Pihlajalinna Health App saves time and money. The Health App’s remote appointment service allows employees to consult a doctor over the chat service or via a video connection.

    Remote appointment service for occupational health customers

    Pihlajalinna’s remote appointment service is available around the clock every day of the year.

    Pihlajalinna Health App is an easy-to-use remote doctor service for your company’s employees. You can download it free of charge for an iPhone from App Store and for an Android device from Google Play.

    The remote appointment service allows you to consult a doctor or nurse remotely via chat or video. Various acute issues such as urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections, eye infections and rashes can be treated remotely.

    The doctor can prescribe medicine, renew prescriptions, refer you for further investigation or write a sick note for short sick leave in accordance with the practices agreed with the company in question. You can see the results for laboratory tests taken at Pihlajalinna in the app’s earlier events.

    The service is not suitable for the treatment of serious illnesses or situations that require a physical examination. The doctor will assess your individual situation. Sleeping pills, psychopharmaceutical drugs or strong pain medication (CNS drugs) are not prescribed through the app. Antibiotics for, for example, ear infections or sinusitis are also not prescribed through the app, as these conditions require assessing the situation at the office.

    The service is considered health care for which Kela reimbursement is available. After a Kela reimbursement of 50%, the average appointment price is EUR 21.50. The service does not incur any other costs. The service is invoiced on a normal occupational health invoice.

    How to download the app and start using it
    1. Start by downloading Pihlajalinna Health App free of charge on your iPhone from App Store and on your Android device from Google Play.
    2. Identify yourself with your electronic banking passwords.
    3. During the first time, you must create yourself a PIN code, which you will use for your future logins.
    4. Now you are ready to start your first remote appointment.
    5. Choose whether you want to use the remote appointment service as an occupational health customer or private customer. In future, as an occupational health customer, you will be able to use the remote service as a private customer as well. Choose your customer role before joining the appointment. You cannot use the remote appointment service on another person’s behalf.
